Five Fromis_9 Members Join New Label, Announce Plans to Continue Group Activities

Five Fromis_9 members have signed with a new label after they decided to “continue their group activities.”

South Korean entertainment company ASND published a statement on January 26 through Ilgan Sports announcing that five of the eight members of Fromis_9 have signed exclusive contracts with the intention of performing further actions as a group.

Fromis_9 was previously under the management of Hybe Pledis before the expiration of their contracts in December 2024, and all eight members decided not to renew.

While the plans to continue the group after that contract are currently unclear, members Song Ha-Young, Park Ji-Won, Lee Na-kyung, Lee Chaeyoung, and Baek Ji-Heon will now move forward under the new agency. It remains uncertain whether the other members will join them.

“It must have taken a lot of thought and courage to decide to continue their group activities,” wrote the company, as translated by Soompi. “We are sincerely grateful to the artists at ASND for their great courage and for choosing to embark on this journey with us. We promise to provide unwavering support so they can realize their dreams in the future.”

ASND also stated that it is currently negotiating with Pledis Entertainment regarding the trademark for the name Fromis_9. “We are preparing for more diverse and significant endeavors in 2025,” they teased.

“In addition to showcasing musical talent and nurturing artists through promotional activities, we also plan a group concert to connect with fans,” ASND mentioned before expressing gratitude to the fanbase.

Before departing from Pledis Entertainment, Fromis_9 released one final song under the label called “from,” which was declared a fan-favorite digital single produced and written by Song Ha-Ioon.

Fromis_9 was formed in 2017 through the Mnet survival show Idol School and made their debut in January 2018 with their first mini-album. The group joined Pledis Entertainment in August 2021 after a management change, and member Jang Gyu-ri left a year later to pursue her acting career.
