Record Store Day 2025 Celebrations

This year, Post Malone has been announced as the ambassador for the event. “What an honor, I can’t believe they chose me to be the ambassador for Record Store Day 2025,” he stated in a recent announcement. “Record Store Day is so important, and I genuinely hope to help preserve it.”

“We love visiting local stores; when we’re on the road, we see all the incredible artwork, and the energy in a record store is just so inspiring. I feel at home. It’s truly an indescribable feeling to step into a store and dig through the boxes, just exploring what’s available,” he added.

Posty’s announcement follows in the tradition of previous ambassadors like St. Vincent, Taylor Swift, Elton John, Noel Gallagher, The 1975, and Dave Grohl. Last year, the title was held by two major names: Paramore and Kate Bush.

The previous year’s Record Store Day took place on April 20, highlighting releases from The 1975, David Bowie, Daft Punk, Talking Heads, Paramore, Blur, Lily Allen, Gorillaz, Elton John, and Noel Gallagher’s High-Flying Birds.

This follows news that vinyl sales increased by nearly 15 percent in the first nine months of 2023, despite the ongoing dominance of streaming services.
