A massive show occurred at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, in front of an audience of 16,000 people, primarily made up of emergency service personnel. Jelly Roll was joined on the bill by Lainey Wilson, Marshmello, Public Enemy, Nate Smith, and Shinedown.

Jelly Roll’s Heartfelt Message

Speaking to the crowd, Jelly Roll stated: “I want you to know that you are here tonight because you are a hero, or you are a loved one of a hero. After watching everything unfold in Tennessee from my home, I thought that if I had the chance to come to California, I would play music for everyone who has worked tirelessly over the past two months to keep this place safe. Thank you for having me tonight – it’s fantastic!”

Support for Affected Communities

This takes place just days after a major concert, Fireaid Benefit, in Los Angeles, featuring prominent artists including Joni Mitchell, who gave a rare public performance, Billie Eilish, and Green Day, who reunited to perform some of their classic hits.

A significant moment from the show occurred when surviving members of Nirvana made an unexpected appearance, joined by St. Vincent, Kim Gordon, Joan Jett, and Dave Grohl’s daughter, Violet, on vocals.

Lady Gaga also debuted a new song titled “Everything I Need, This Is Time,” inspired by the forest fires related to Fireaid. “I think that right now we all need a lot of things, but I believe we also may need time,” Gaga said before performing the song.

Many musicians stepped up to support affected communities after the fires. The Beigud Foundation donated $2.5 million for assistance. Paris Hilton also established a fund for families affected by the fires, pledging $100,000 and promising to match up to $100,000 in donations. Dave Grohl spent his birthday preparing meals for the families who suffered loss.

Meanwhile, Jelly Roll is set to appear in the lineup for Saturday Night Live’s SNL 50: Concert Return to Homeland on February 14, alongside artists such as Backstreet Boys, Bad Bunny, Brandi Carlile, Chris Martin, David Byrne, Jack White, Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, Linton, and Post Malone.
