Lady Gaga performed the biggest show of her career last night (April 3) in front of two million people at Kopakaban beach – check out the details below.
The Historic “Conversations on the Beach” Event
The “Conversations on the Beach” concert, hosted at the beautiful Kopakaban beach near the Belmond Copacabana Palace hotel, marked Gaga’s return to Brazil for her first show since 2012. The monumental concert opened with a Landmark Free Show, setting the stage for an unforgettable evening.
The artist behind “Abracadabra” addressed the record-breaking audience from an innovative stage set to embody her creative vision. Remarkably, this event is estimated to have brought $100 million (75 million pounds) to the local economy, as reported by BBC News.
In her heartfelt words to the incredible crowd, Gaga expressed, “It was an immense honor to be here with you tonight. My heart is full; I feel lucky, proud, and deeply grateful.”
She continued, “Tonight we are making history, but no one enters history alone. Without all of you, this moment wouldn’t be possible. The people of Brazil are the reason I can shine today.”

Last year, Madonna performed at the same location in Brazil, hosting a free concert for 1.6 million fans, but Gaga’s performance was reported to break records with approximately 2.5 million attendees.
This follows Gaga performing classic hits such as “Judas”, “Alejandro”, “Paparazzi”, and “Born This Way” during the first weekend of Coachella earlier this month.
On April 18, she debuted newer tracks during the festival’s second weekend, despite experiencing microphone issues while performing “Abracadabra”.
In a four-star review, NME noted: “There is a carefree confidence in how Gaga embraces her maximalist vision, without losing touch with contemporary pop. Many of the tracks hover around or exceed the four-minute mark, transforming them into mini-epics in the age of TikTok.”
“Ultimately, ‘Mayhem’ feels like a quintessential Gaga album—immensely enjoyable. It’s like reconnecting with an old friend, where everything makes sense, even when it skews a bit chaotic. Seventeen years after her breakthrough with ‘Just Dance’, Lady Gaga continues to be an incredibly influential figure in the music industry.”
In related news, Lady Gaga’s upcoming tour in the United States was announced last month, including dates throughout Great Britain and Europe, as well as stops in North America. Details of an Australian tour are also expected to follow.
The final leg, titled “Mayhem Ball,” comes as she promotes her new “Mayhem” album, preparing for her first live performances in over a decade in Singapore, her first shows in Mexico in more than 13 years, and this monumental free concert for over a million fans on Kopakaban Beach in Rio.
