Background Information

The American indie rock band had to cancel all remaining shows last September after frontman Conor Oberst lost his voice. He “underwent several tests to determine the cause” of his vocal issues.

The band explained that he developed a medical condition exacerbated by excessive singing, which necessitated treatment and recovery. They informed fans that they aimed to return to touring in 2025, and that promise has now been fulfilled.

Their first show was at The Van Buren in Phoenix, Arizona, on Thursday (January 16), featuring a career-spanning set that included their first performance of “June On The West Coast” since 2011, a track that originally appeared on their second album, 1998’s Letting Off The Happiness.
