Ex-NFL Star Antonio Brown Announces Booking for Fyre Festival 2

Antonio Brown’s Announcement

Former NFL star Antonio Brown stated in an interview that he is confirmed to perform at Fyre Festival 2, scheduled to take place from May 30 to June 2 on Isla Mujeres, a tropical island near Cancun, Mexico.

Festival Controversy

Earlier this week, Mexico’s tourist council claimed that the festival “does not exist.” Edgar Gaska from the Isla Mujeres tourism department remarked, “We do not know about this event and have not been contacted by any person or company regarding it. For us, this is an event that does not exist.”

This declaration follows the announcement last month by festival founder Billy McFarland, who stated that his “real return” is imminent. Tickets went on sale this week, with prices ranging from $1,400 to $25,000. Premium packages are priced at an astonishing $1.1 million.

In his interview with TMZ Sports, Brown asserted, “This is AB, and I will be performing at Fyre Fest Part 2 in Mexico on May 30. Be there or be square!” He urged viewers to “Make sure you tune in!”

Brown has been confirmed as the first registered act for Fyre Festival 2, as no lineup has been publicly released yet. Last month, the festival took to social media to announce its return, branding itself as the “real” deal in an extensive post.

The festival promotes itself as a “three-day escape to the Mexican Caribbean, where you can explore during the day with your favorite talents and gather at night to revel in music.” Fyre Festival 2 also promises “Adventures led by international and local talents, providing guests with excursions by day and intimate performances on the beach by night.”

The original Fyre Festival in 2017 was set to feature performances by Blink-182, Major Lazer, Migos, Pusha T, Tyga, among others.

Originally conceived by McFarland eight years ago, the Fyre Festival was intended to be a two-day event on a private beach in the Bahamas but ended in disaster with attendees facing inadequate accommodations and a lack of food and water. This debacle was documented in the Netflix film Fyre.

McFarland was released from prison in 2022 after pleading guilty to multiple counts of fraud.
