NME awarded her last project “Perverts” four stars, stating: “Random fans may not last even three minutes. But for those willing to confront their discomfort, “Perverts” unveils hidden depths, akin to one needing time to adjust to dim light. What is reflected is seen through the eyes of the observer.”
In other news regarding Ethel Cain, she recently drew attention after sharing her thoughts on the assassination of Unitedhealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, who was shot near a Manhattan hotel in December 2024.
The incident prompted a multi-day manhunt, ultimately leading to the arrest of Luigi Mangion, who was discovered with a three-page manifesto criticizing the American healthcare system. Cain expressed her disappointment with the healthcare system, stating that while she did not advocate for violence, it was “sometimes” an answer. “It’s simple,” she wrote. “You make them fear for their lives and hit them in the only place that hurts, or nothing will change.” She concluded her post on Instagram with the hashtag “Killmoreceos”.
This led to a wave of backlash and criticism, particularly from conservative circles, with Fox News branding the musician as a “terrorist” for her “corrupted” remarks.
