New Single Release
Esme Emerson has unveiled their latest single “It’s gone too far” from the upcoming EP ‘Applesauce’, which is set to release on March 7th.
About the Track and EP
The British-Chinese duo’s new single comes after their signing with Communion Records and the release of their previous EP, Big Leap, No Faith, Small Chancer.
“Too Far Gone” serves as a chaotic memoir reflecting a turbulent relationship. It delves into themes of pent-up resentment, anger, and the challenge of articulating those emotions,” explains Esme. “It captures the feeling of someone taking bits of your essence away, and how, over time, you realize there’s not much left. It’s about gathering the remnants of your character and finding the bravery to finally express something honest.”
Discussing the title of the EP, Esme reveals, “We have two apple trees in our garden. Each summer since we were young, apples would fall, roll down the hill, and rot away. This year, however, our mother harvested them. There was an abundance, so she made applesauce. The title “Applesauce” signifies both “nonsense” and a sense of home. Nostalgia plays a crucial role in our songwriting, likely stemming from the fact that we are siblings. Creating music often feels like reflecting on our shared history—our childhood, our growth, and our mistakes.”
