On New Year’s Eve (December 31), the legendary actor Morgan Freeman surprised patrons at the Ground Zero bar he owns in Mississippi by joining music icon Al Green on stage for a heartfelt rendition of Green’s timeless classic, “Let’s Stay Together.”
During the tribute, Freeman, donned in a white turtleneck and black jacket, joined Green as he began singing the lyrics of the cherished 1971 hit: “‘Cause you make me feel so new“, to which Freeman added, “Let me say it since, baby, since we were together / Ooh, I love you forever.“
The audience – as captured in the footage below – was taken aback and erupted in cheers as the two icons shared the stage. Throughout their performance, Green and Freeman exchanged smiles and laughter, creating a vibrant atmosphere.
