English Teacher Announces UK Tour for 2025

Tour Information
The Lids group, nominated for the best new artist in Britain, is set to embark on a tour starting in November.
They will perform in Nottingham, Newcastle, Glasgow, and Manchester, concluding with a show at the O2 LEEDS Academy on November 22. The final performance is scheduled for the Roundhouse in Camden, London, on November 26.

The English teacher released its debut album, “Mercury Debut Album: This May Texas,” in April of last year. The recording earned a glowing five-star review from NME and was ranked number three on their list of the 50 best albums of 2024. Their track “Albert Road” was also named the sixth best song of the year.
Last month, the English Teacher was featured in the BBC Sound of 2025 poll.
In a 2023 interview with NME, guitarist Lewis Wating remarked that the band “does not want to be confined to one sound,” explaining that they “have a point of view to prove” through their music. Following their return home, the group indicated to NME that they are working on new material that will build on their already iconic sound.

Wating mentioned that the English Teacher “has several songs” lined up for support from IDLE during their UK tour in November. Bassist Nicholas Eden also teased a forthcoming song, describing it as “the unity of every track on this (first) album.” Last year, the English Teacher performed a new song titled “Billboards.”
This year, the English Teacher will also appear at the Wide Awake festival in London and will perform in Manchester at the Theory of BearDed in Derbyshire.
