Emily Ratajkowski Calls Katy Perry’s Space Flight “Disgusting”: “This Goes Beyond Parody”

Emily Ratajkowski’s Reaction to the Cosmic Flight

Emily Ratajkowski expressed her feelings about the recent cosmic flight with Katy Perry, calling the experience “disgusting” – see her comments below.

Katy Perry’s Historic Journey to Space

Yesterday (April 14), Katy Perry made history as one of six women participating in the inaugural cosmic expedition, following Valentina Tereshkova’s solo flight, which made her the first woman in space back in 1963.

Other participants in the mission organized by Jeff Bezos’ “Blue Origin” included former NASA missile engineer Aisha Bow, civil rights activist Amanda Nguyen, film producer Kerianne Flynn, Gayle King, and Bezos’ fiancée Loren Sanchez. The trip marked the 11th crewed flight of the New Shepard program, lasting approximately 11 minutes.

After Perry safely returned to Earth, model and actress Emily Ratajkowski took to social media to voice her thoughts on the expedition. While she didn’t directly place blame on Perry or her fellow space travelers, she criticized the mission in a TikTok video, questioning its value.

“This space mission this morning? This is shit at the end of time.

Ratajkowski elaborated further, asking: “Look at the state of the world. Think about how many resources these women put into space … for what? What was there in marketing?” She concluded her passionate critique by stating how “nasty” she found the entire affair.

Ratajkowski wasn’t alone in her disapproval of the mission. After the spaceship’s return, actor-director Olivia Wilde appeared to critique the space flight with a post on her Instagram Story: “A billion dollars bought good memes.”

Prior to the launch, actress Olivia Munn also voiced her concerns about the mission, questioning, “What are they doing? I know this might not be cool, but there are so many other important issues in the world right now. It seems wrong that so much money is spent on space travel while many people can’t even meet their basic needs.”

She described the endeavor as “voracious” and challenged the participants about what they planned to achieve there that would benefit humanity.

Once back on Earth, Gayle King opened up about Perry’s space adventure, performing a rendition of “What a Wonderful World” by Louis Armstrong while in orbit. Explaining her choice of song, Perry remarked, “I’ve sung this song before, and it represents a collective energy. We are celebrating not just me or my music but also the potential for future women in this wonderful world we live in.”

In other news, Katy Perry is set to embark on her own life tour in 2025, marking her first tour in seven years. The dates will celebrate her seventh studio album “143,” which was released in September of last year. Visit ticket sales here.
