Ellie Dixon Unveils a Video for Her Edgy New Party Anthem “Gut”

New single announcement

Ellie Dixon has released a video for her latest single 'Guts', which was recorded at the prestigious Abbey Road Studios.

Release details and collaborations

This new track comes after her Renaissance Single launched in the winter of 2024, following a busy year in which Dixon collaborated with a visa for the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris 2024 and toured alongside Upsahl.

Dixon describes “Guts” as a blend of “Samba-Rock-Dnb-Pop,” reflecting a deeper and more intense direction for her music. “Guts was born from a conversation that I had with some friends who shared stories from my adolescence. As everyone told stories about parties, dates and uprisings, I had nothing to add. Being a nervous child, I did not leave, did not meet, did not have the same adventures. At that moment, I saw all these experiences that I missed from my concern, and I felt an anger. GUTS is a therapeutic output for this anger — a song for parties for those who were not at parties. It’s a call to scream out for those who didn’t scream,” Dixon shares.

“The music video for Guts is my favorite video that I’ve ever made,” she continues. “It serves as a powerful visual metaphor for the panic attack at a party — everything seems normal on the outside, while inside, you feel like the lights are flashing red, and you’re battling with your own thoughts. The character embodies anxiety, appearing and disappearing unexpectedly, forcing viewers to question what is real. Anxiety can feel incredibly surreal, distorting your sense of reality, and I aimed to capture that experience through this narrative. It’s a high-octane piece that respects the intensity of our internal struggles and acknowledges those fighting invisible battles. I hope it empowers people to take pride in their experiences and, as the song says, feel bold in just existing.”
