Aich announces second album
Aich has revealed his second album '4', set to release on June 20 through NQ Records/The Orchard.
Influences and inspirations
The new Manchester rapper’s album follows his 2022 debut, “Close to the House,” and the recent single “Bounce.” Drawing inspiration from classic hip-hop legends like NAS, 50 Cent, and Eminem, the album represents Aich’s postal codes and hometown, featuring several prominent British rap artists.
“This album is, first and foremost, my mail index. My postal index is M40, and for many years, since childhood, we would always throw up 4 in photos. It was our thing; we were always about 4. So, as they say, it’s embraced by the people in ‘4’!” Aich explains.
“While this album may not be as personal or vulnerable as ‘Close to the House,’ it reflects a completely different side of my mind where I release all these vibes and showcase where I come from. Especially from Manchester, I feel like many aspects get overshadowed. The scene is very London-centric, and we don’t always represent what it is like here.”
To commemorate this announcement, Aich celebrated by parading through Manchester on fire engines while playing tracks from the upcoming album, visiting significant locations tied to his early career, including Moston Lane, Wellington Mill, the scene, and Stevenson Square.
This announcement follows multiple releases in 2025, including “Raving in the Studio” with BOU, the freestyle “The Guy Who Called?” and “Straight Rhymez 2,” alongside his collaboration “Friday Prayer” with AJ Tracey and Headie One.
Aitch will be performing B2B with AJ Tracey at BBC Radio 1 Big Weekend in Liverpool on May 24.
