Edinburgh DJ Convicted of Child Sexual Offenses

DJ Guilty of Child Sexual Crimes

DJ DAV, also known as Dave Angelo Walder, from Edinburgh, has been found guilty of crimes involving the sexual exploitation of children.

Court Appearance and Charges

Walder appeared in the Edinburgh Sheriff Court last Thursday (April 17) where he pleaded guilty to possessing obscene images of children and coercing a child into participating in sexual activities.

According to a report from Daily Record, the 25-year-old forced a 14-year-old girl to send him explicit images and perform sexual acts on the internet, recording her using a mobile phone. Walder was reported after he sent “from five to 10” images of himself sexually abusing the victim.

Deputy fiscal Cheryl Porter stated that Walder first contacted the young girl, who resides in England, through a chat website before shifting their conversations to Skype in January 2021.

The disturbing material was discovered during a police raid on his Edinburgh home last year, following reports of his criminal activities. Authorities found approximately “2000” obscene images of children, some as young as four years old, stored on seven mobile phones between April 2019 and March 2021.

The court learned that hundreds of these images were classified as “category A,” the most severe designation for prohibited images of children under Scottish law.

Walder is scheduled to be sentenced at the Edinburgh Sheriff Court next month. Sheriff Matthew Aychincloss indicated that a custodial sentence is likely, as reported by Daily Record.

He has been registered as a sex offender and was advised by the sheriff to “get his affairs in order,” as he faces a lengthy prison term upon sentencing.
