Drake’s Special Australian Tour Plans
Drake has something “very, very special” planned for his upcoming Australian tour – find out more below.
Next month (February), Drake will return Down Under for his first tour of Australia and New Zealand in eight years. After such a long wait, the Canadian rapper promised fans that in exchange for their patience they would receive a “very, very special show.”
Drake’s Thoughts on Australia
During the recent Drizzmas Giveaway YouTube broadcast with Adin Ross, in which he gave fans two all-expenses-paid trips to see him live in Australia, Drake spoke fondly of Australia.
“Australia is a wonderful place. I hope everyone has a chance to see it. It’s amazing, the people are incredible. I remember one of my first experiences drinking white wine in Bondi Beach and I just thought, “Wow.” It reminded me how big the world is,” Drake said during the broadcast.
Drake continued: “Australia is one of the most incredible places on planet Earth. I’m so glad to be ahead after eight years. I have a very, very special show for you.”
Later in the stream, the rapper also joked that he was working on his Australian accent, saying: “I can’t wait to see all my Australian songs. I really want it, buddy, as simple as shelling pears. I can’t wait to land, mate.”
The tour will see Drake perform two nights each in Melbourne, Sydney, and Auckland, with a one-night stop in Brisbane. Tickets are already on sale, you can purchase your own here.

Upcoming Album and Legal Matters
In late November, Drake shared news of his upcoming album with PARTYNEXTDOOR. The rapper first announced the album in August: “On behalf of me and Party, we’re working on something for you,” he told fans near the end of the concert. So summer is over, you do what you need to do. I know all of you girls are outside. When it gets a little cooler, there’s a PARTYNEXTDOOR and Drake album waiting for you.”
Drake has now said of the album: “The Me and Party album is 75 percent done at the moment. Give PX cooking credit. The album sounds incredible… This album is good; it’s the sound people know and love us for.”
Drake spent a good portion of 2024 feuding with Kendrick Lamar. Over the course of their feud, the two rappers released several diss songs aimed at each other, with some of their diss songs going down within days and even hours of the other’s diss.
Drake also recently filed two lawsuits against Universal Music Group regarding “Not Like Us.” The first dispute, filed in New York, alleges that UMG “artificially inflated” the streaming figures for “Not Like Us” and engaged in undisclosed “pay-to-play” schemes.
The second lawsuit, filed in Texas, alleges defamation and claims that UMG “knowingly” approved the release of “Not Like Us” despite lyrics from Kendrick Lamar’s songs that claim Drake is a “pedophile.”
Kendrick Lamar’s team has not yet responded to NME trying to get a comment. Meanwhile, UMG said of both lawsuits: “The suggestion that UMG would do anything to undermine the credibility of any of its artists is offensive and untrue. We apply the highest ethical standards in our marketing and advertising campaigns. No amount of flimsy and absurd legal arguments in this preliminary statement will be able to disguise the fact that fans choose the music they want to hear.”
