New video release from DITC
DITC has unveiled a new video for their latest single “Taxi Driver,” which is part of their forthcoming album “Never Exhale.” This album is set to be released under Republic Of Music in collaboration with Domino Publishing.
Video inspiration and songwriting journey
The monochrome video, directed by Harry Steele of “Haunted Mattress,” draws inspiration from classic cinema. Steele explains, “I collaborated with the Clump Collective to create a narrative that poses an intriguing question: ‘What if Martin Scorsese’s Taxi Driver were made during the German Expressionist era?'”
The song originated from a songwriting session in Cologne. Singer California Frances shares, “We’ve been eager to perform most of this new album live for the past year. Among all the tracks, Taxi Man gained the most attention. We wrote it in just a couple of days in an abandoned bomb shelter. It was a tumultuous process; we encountered a significant clash before we finally found inspiration from Taxi Driver. The whole song came together swiftly and has become our favorite to perform live. It’s one of those moments you hope to recreate but can never fully envision again.”
