Tina Turner’s New Single Released
Tina Turner's new, never-before-heard single is out now – listen to “Hot For You Baby” below.
The song premiered on BBC Radio 2. Breakfast show this morning (January 23). Recorded at Capitol Studios in Hollywood, it was originally intended to be a track for Turner's fifth album, Private Dancer (1984).

“Hot For You Baby” was thought to be lost, but the recent discovery of the tune “opens a new chapter in the story of 'Private Dancer,'” according to a press release.
Written by Australian musicians George Young and Harry Vanda and produced by John Carter, the new song will appear on the 40th anniversary edition of Turner's Grammy-winning breakthrough album.
Anniversary Edition Details
“Private Dancer (40th Anniversary Edition)” is due out March 21st. The description notes that the collection boasts “a stunning array of previously unreleased tracks, live performances, and video footage, paying tribute to the legacy of the artist whose music changed the world.”
Fans will be able to purchase the expanded album on 5CD/Blu-ray, 2CD, 1LP vinyl, and 1LP picture disc. You can pre-order here and listen to “Hot For You Baby” here:
The centerpiece of the upcoming release will be a 5CD/Blu-ray set that includes a remastered 55-minute film. Private Dance Tour show filmed at the NEC in Birmingham over two nights in March 1985.
The film, directed by David Mallett, features performances by David Bowie and Bryan Adams at Turner's iconic concert. The film has been “meticulously restored by Mallet, offering a front-row seat to Turner at her best.”
The set also includes five remastered music videos, including “Private Dancer”, fully restored in HD from the original 35mm film.
“Private Dancer” peaked at number one on the Billboard 200 in the US and number two on the UK album chart. The five-times platinum album earned Turner four Grammy Awards: Best Female Rock Vocal Performance (“Better Be Good To Me”), Best Female Pop Vocal Performance, Record of the Year and Song of the Year (“What’s Love Got to Do with It?”)
