Upcoming Album Details

Dreamboy will serve as Nas’s second studio album and is expected to drop at the end of this year through Columbia Records. He kicked off the promotion at the end of 2024 with the release of “Light Again”, followed by “Required Boy” in November.

“Light Again” showcases production from Daft Punk’s Thomas Bangalter, and at the time, the rapper commented, “Dreamboy is not just an album. I am so thrilled to take you on this journey.”

Last January, he released his first gospel track “J Hriest”, which received backlash from the Christian community. The cover depicted the artist ascending on a cross, drawing comparisons to the crucifixion of Jesus. Many viewed it as a “mockery of Christ,” which surprisingly garnered approval from the Church of Satan. In response, the Rodeo star expressed disappointment over the negativity surrounding the song.

He also faced scrutiny when he hinted at the Dreamboy project, allegedly collaborating with Sega Bodega.

Bodega (real name Salvador Navarret) took to X/Twitter to highlight the similarities between the cover art and his own work for the 2021 single “Angel on My Shoulder”.

“I’m not even trying to say that he looks like a copy,” Navarret wrote. When a fan pointed out that Lil Nas X had shared a story on Instagram earlier that day linking to the artwork without proper credit, Navarret replied, “He saw something that would vanish in 24 hours and ignored the name of the artist or photographer! Be thankful! You sound a bit crazy.”
