Discover How Jack White is Transforming the Term ‘Corporation’ to Critique Donald Trump and Elon Musk

Jack White’s Bold Lyrics Change

Jack White altered the lyrics of his 2018 hit “Corporation” to target US President Donald Trump and Elon Musk.

Memorable Boston Performance

On February 18, Jack White completed his last North American date as part of the “no name” tour in Boston, where he delivered a controversial version of “Corporation,” aiming barbs at Trump and Musk.

Although the show took place nearly a month ago, it only recently began generating headlines as clips of the performance circulated in the past few days. During the song, White started with jabs at Tesla owner Elon Musk, who was appointed by Trump as head of the Department of Government Efficiency.

I thought about taking state subsidies and starting my own electric vehicle company; Who is with me?” White sings. “I think not to be chosen. Never holding a state position. Never served one day of military service, but somehow he has the authority to control parts of the US government; Who is with me?

While continuing to criticize Musk, White also makes a daring attack on Trump: “I think about not being properly verified by the Supreme Court or Congress, just doing everything that hell I want, because some damn bloated orange ass, damn gorilla, who has failed at every business he controlled, wants me to be his partner in golf.

This isn’t the first time Jack White has spoken out against Trump and his administration. Back in November, the frontman of the “White Stripes” reacted to Donald Trump’s election victory, posting on social media: “Americans have chosen a famous, obvious fascist, and now America will get what this dictator imitates from that moment on … it’s absolutely stunning that this fraud has successfully pulled the wool over many eyes, and not just once, but twice.”

In August, he warned Trump’s campaign not to use his music after a video featuring “The White Stripes’ “Seven Nation Army” appeared in a Trump campaign video. White warned: “Oh … do not think about using my music, fascists,” adding that he would file a lawsuit for its unauthorized use.

The lawsuit was filed in September, with Meg and Jack White named as co-plaintiffs. According to the lawsuit filed in Manhattan’s Federal Court, the group “fiercely opposes the adopted policies and actions taken by the accused Trump during his presidency, and those he proposed for a second term” Pitchfork.

In a post shared on Instagram on September 9, White signed a copy of the legal complaint: “This lawsuit is for the fascists.” During a surprise performance at London’s Assembly Hall in September, he seemingly referenced the dispute again, telling the crowd: “As soon as you join a political party, someone is trying to lie to you … I have news for you: you have a brain, you have a mind. I can hear you, Amen, London!”

In October, he hit Trump again when the former president insulted Detroit while speaking at an event in the city. Trump used Detroit as an example of what would happen to the country if his opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris, won the election. “It will be like Detroit,” he stated. “Our whole country will ultimately look like Detroit if he is your president. You will have a mess on your hands.”

White responded on social media: “What kind of political idiot insults Detroit while speaking to Detroiters??? Guess what, Trump, you’re not one of us. You will lose Michigan, you wannabe dictator of an orange clown. Go back to your fascist rallies.”

On another note, the White Stripes recently announced a reissue to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their fifth album “Get Behind Me Satan,” which will feature demo recordings, alternative studio takes, and live versions of the songs.

Since then, the frontman has also appeared on Saturday Night Live for the show’s 50th anniversary, performing the classic track “Seven Nation Army” and offering a cover version of Neil Young’s “Rockin’ in the Free World.”
