Diplo Reaches Settlement
Diplo’s lawyers have announced that the DJ and producer have arrived at a global “settlement in principle” with the woman who previously accused him of sexual assault.
The ruling concludes his legal conflict with Shelley Auguste, a woman with whom Diplo had a sexual relationship in 2019.
Allegations and Counterclaims
The DJ (real name Thomas Wesley Pentz) has been embroiled in a dispute with Auguste, who accused him of distributing revenge pornography, as well as sexual battery, gender-based violence, willful invasion of privacy, battery, assault, slander, emotional distress, and fraud.
Pentz denied Auguste’s allegations and filed a lawsuit against her in April 2021, claiming stalking, trespassing, and the dissemination of private materials. His filing suggested that Auguste was “dangerously unstable” and noted that “she made tireless efforts to communicate with him” after their relationship ended.
