Dinosaur Returns with New Single
Dinosaur has made a comeback with a brand new single, “Embellous to loss,” marking their first release since signing with Talismatic Records.
Challenges Faced by the Band
The release comes after a tough period for the group, particularly for frontman Matt Bigland, who faced a life-threatening battle with ulcerative colitis, resulting in numerous hospital stays in 2021. This difficult experience has significantly shaped both the band’s perspective and their new material.
“You think that halfway through life, but then you realize you could be at the end,” Bigland reflects. “It was awful being in that room. I felt incredibly vulnerable and out of control. Listening to how people spend their last hours made me ponder what would happen if I were to die. What legacy would I leave? What truly mattered while I was alive?”
The Essence of the New Single
This new single encapsulates a five-year personal struggle, with Bigland explaining the essence of the track: “It reflects the pleasure of losing grip, a sensation that pushes the limits of your emotional capacity. I aimed to create a song with an introduction that would properly set the scene as the first track after a 4 to 5-year hiatus due to poor health. I wanted it to be intense and intuitive, and I desired a heavy metal vibe.”
