Dinosaurs Make a Comeback with a Dynamic and Instinctive New Single, “To Lose It,” Their First in Five Years

New Single Release

Dinosavrov has made a powerful return with his first new single in five years, titled “attack to lose it.” You can listen to it below.

Challenges Faced by the Band

The Lids group announced their signing with the talismans and opened up about significant personal struggles faced by frontman Matt Bigland during the band’s hiatus.

Bigland, the singer and guitarist, revealed he was critically unwell in 2021 due to ulcer colitis, an experience that led him to reevaluate his life perspective, describing it as a “catharsis.”

“Nice to lose it” is an expressive release from feelings of unfulfilled disappointment, marking the band’s powerful return. “I think I returned to the edge / maybe I never left / would be good if you took care / what I expected?“, sings Bigland.

Reflections on Health and Life

Reflecting on his health struggles, Bigland shared, “You think that halfway to life, but then you understand that you can be at the end. It was terrible to be in this room. I felt incredibly vulnerable. I had no control.”

“Hearing how people in their last hours of life made me reflect on what would happen if I died,” he continued. “What legacy would I leave? What truly mattered during my time here? What trivial things consumed my thoughts? I always knew that life could be fleeting and fragile – how crucial it is to seize every opportunity – but I never processed it like that…”

“People don’t typically connect their health crises to being in a band,” he added. “We’re often associated with partying and having a great time, especially in today’s Instagram culture. At my lowest, I felt worlds away from being the guy on stage in front of a large crowd. It was hard to rationalize. I was skin and bones, broke, felt like I would die, and questioned what had happened to me and why.”

The last Dinosaur Coolup album, Celebrity Mansions, was released in 2019, marking their fourth studio record, which included the single “Rear leg.” This featured a comedic video showcasing the mundane 9-5 jobs, tired parents, and dreary daytime television.
