Kali-Vest appeared with her husband Kanye West at the event over the weekend, showcasing a fur coat that she later removed to reveal an almost completely transparent dress.

This outfit was reportedly designed to emulate the cover of the album “Vultures 1,” a collaborative effort between Ye and Ty Dolla $IGN. Unsurprisingly, it sparked shock on social media, along with concerns regarding censorship and decency.

The couple exited the event shortly thereafter, with West later confirming that their departure was voluntary and not prompted by others.

Grammy Producer Addresses the Incident

In light of the ongoing speculation about whether the outfit violated the event’s dress code and the discussions surrounding Censori’s potentially inappropriate effect, the Grammys producer commented on the situation.

Speaking with People, Executive Producer Raj Kapur addressed the incident. He noted that while there is a dress code of “art black tie” for guests, there may be some leeway, stating, “In the music industry, I think this is open to interpretation.”

Kapur continued, “It’s clear that there is a standard for attire that we expect all attendees to adhere to. However, for those present and visiting nominees, this is something that the Academy (which represents the Grammys) would need to address.”

The incident was also not broadcast on television, as “obscene content” is prohibited on cable, satellite, and radio broadcasts.

During the event, West was nominated for Best Rap Song (Carnival with Ty Dolla $IGN and Rich The Kid Feat. Playboi Carti) but lost to the “wrong” Kendrick Lamar.

This sensational moment is not the first for the couple, as they previously made headlines in 2023 when police in Venice investigated an “obscene” public incident involving them on a boat.

According to reports from The Times of Hindustan, Kanye West defended his wife’s outfit in a now-deleted Instagram post, stating, “For clarity, my wife is the most Googled person on the planet Earth.”
