UK and European Tour Dates
The Canadian indie rock band, led by Dan Bejar, have also revealed a series of UK and European tour dates this summer, featuring performances in Manchester, Bristol, and London. Scroll down to see all the dates.
“Dan’s Boogie” marks the band’s 14th studio album and follows 2022’s “Labyrinthitis.” The album is set to release on Merge Records on March 28th. Place your pre-order here.
Lead single “Bologna” features the Toronto band Fiver and, as per a press release, is the first song by Destroyer where Bejar envisions himself as a supporting character. You can watch the video directed by David Galloway here:
“I haven’t written many songs like ‘Bologna,’” Bejar shared. “I was challenged to deliver the first and third verses, which are crucial to the song. They required gravity and persistence. The threat of extinction felt palpable, so I reached out to Simone,” he mentioned, referring to Fiver’s singer Simone Schmidt.

NME reviewed Destroyer’s 2020 album ‘Have We Met,’ giving it four stars and noting: “Bejar’s songwriting remains as deft, enigmatic, and mosaic as ever. He described the record as ‘dark’ and ‘hopeless,’ evoking apocalyptic imagery including atomic bombs (‘Foolsong’), hospital hallways (‘Crimson Tide’), and a fleeting encounter with the Boston Strangler (‘Kinda Dark’). The recurring theme conveys that things don’t unfold as you anticipate: ‘follow your paycheck to the bottom of the ocean’ he hums in ‘Crimson Tide.’
