Payday Music Publishing Expands Leadership
Payday Music Publishing – a company formerly known as Ultra International Music Publishing, has announced two senior appointments in its synchronization licensing operation.
Desiree Autobee has been appointed as the director of synchronization for TV & Film, while Jamie Soussman has been named the director of synchronization for Trailers & Ads. Both will operate out of the Santa Monica office and report directly to the founder and general director, Patrick Moxy.
The new appointees are tasked with acquiring music from artists and songwriters who are signed with Payday, leveraging “an extensive musical catalog of the company to manage effective campaigns,” as stated by Payday on Tuesday (April 29).
New Studio Launch and Upcoming Events
Payday also announced the opening of an additional studio in Los Angeles, increasing its total number of studios in the area to six (four in Santa Monica and two in Hollywood). Sessions in these studios will feature collaborations with artists and songwriters such as Tyler, the Creator, Thundercat, Lil Yachty, and Afrojack.
Additionally, Payday will soon host the eighth annual Coachella songwriting camp at its Los Angeles studio, which in previous years has attracted talents like Playboi Carti, Sofi Tukker, Bob Moses, YG, DVBB, Disco, J Worra, and ASAP Ferg.
Autobee previously served at MNRK Music Group as the director of creative synchronization and licensing. Her career began at Warner Music Group’s Films/Television licensing department, later taking on the role of creative synchronization at Universal Music Group.
Throughout her career, Autobee has contributed to placements in notable projects such as Naughty by Nature, Hip-Hop Karma, Fleishman is in Trouble, J Blige, and Manga Saint Hilare. Her work includes songs featured in EA’s FIFA, Checks in the trailer for Pitch Perfect 3, and various productions for Hulu, ESPN, Fortnite, Netflix, and Fox Sports.
Soussman joins Payday from music licensing agency Check, where she served as the director of synchronization for entertainment marketing. She played a crucial role in award-winning marketing campaigns, including trailers for Paramount Pictures‘ Babylon, A24‘s Sing, and the second season of HBO’s White Lotus.
Payday highlighted that Soussman’s “strategic understanding of individual musical offerings” has turned the organizations she worked with into significant music production houses.
“We are thrilled that Desiree and Jamie have joined our strong synchronization team in Santa Monica,” Moxy stated.
