Deadmau5 Criticizes 3LAU
DEADMAU5 has called out 3LAU for his performance at the inauguration of President Donald Trump earlier this week, labeling him a “villain.”
3LAU’s Involvement in the Inauguration
3LAU was among the performers at the event, joining artists like Kid Rock, Billy Ray Cyrus, and the Village People as Trump was sworn in as the President of the United States on Monday (January 20).
Reflecting on his experience on Wednesday (January 22), the EDM musician shared his thoughts on Instagram: “5 days ago, the @potus team reached out to us for a DJ to perform post-inauguration. The gig at Starlight Ball wasn’t on my bingo card for 2025, but wow, what an honor. I was so nervous that I could only play for 30 minutes, but damn it. Achievement unlocked.”
However, this post received backlash, with many commenters expressing their disapproval of his support for the Trump administration. Among those voicing their dissent was Deadmau5, who responded with a pointed remark.
“The best conclusion: not a single person in this ridiculous administration ever knew who you were, cared about you, or expressed the slightest bit of concern for you, and none of them will remember you,” he stated. “But everyone in this industry will remember that you supported Nazis and convicted criminals who marginalized the individuals that provided you a platform.”
