Last year, the musician spoke with NME about his tour in the US and Europe, supporting SZA on her tour, and writing music for television and games, explaining that he had never been to a concert before performing his first show in 2024.
“I never went to concerts, festivals, or anything like that. So I felt like I was allowing the audience to speak to me when I performed with them. I was not nervous. I didn’t have a backstage snack of mental breakdown,” he stated.
“It is very easy; I love to perform. When you perform for people who know your songs, it is like an exchange of energy. They give me energy, I give them energy, and we both have fun. Entertainment on stage is the most important thing for me.”

Meanwhile, last week, D4VD had a funny moment during his Coachella set, where he unexpectedly fell after slipping mid-performance. He played the Gobi tent on the opening day of the California festival (April 11), attempting to wow the crowd with a gymnastic move that went wrong, leading to a surprising fall on his head.
As he joked later on X/Twitter, the rising artist quickly got back up and continued singing, sharing a video of a successful move after the slip, writing: “He got up and did it, immediately fun, Fun Mf Set.”
Fans made light of the moment, prompting him to post a meme of a dog watching the sunset, captioning it: “A complete ritual of humiliation… See you next week, Coachella, I love you.”
Ahead of his upcoming set next weekend, he reassured fans he was “training for the next.” Sharing a screenshot of the stunt gone wrong on Instagram stories, he explained that he planned to listen to his track “What You Waiting For” while practicing the move “1000 times today.”
The musician’s debut album, “Whiteered,” releases on Friday, April 25, and he recently discussed the project with NME, which you can read in full here.
