Album Insights
In recent months, Courtney Love has been generating buzz regarding her second solo album, a long-awaited follow-up to the 2004 release, “Lover.” Back in November, she mentioned her collaboration with Echo and Bannimen’s Will Sargent for the new album but clarified it won’t be reminiscent of a “rude” P.J. Harvey record.
Recently, Love shed more light on the upcoming project, which has yet to be officially announced and does not have a set release date. On Tuesday (March 4), she spoke at the London Royal Geographical Society alongside actor Todd Almond during a celebration of his new oral history collection, Slow Train: “Girl from the Northern Country” Bob Dylan and the Revival of Broadway.
At the event, Love shared details about her forthcoming album, aimed at her dedicated fans, known as the Trusty Cortney Love Fkyahcourtneylove, as reported by Stereogum. She mentioned that the album has been in the works since 2009 and will feature contributions from her former bandmate, Melissa Auf Der Maur. Once the album is complete, Love plans to head back on tour.
While she stressed that Hole would not be reuniting, she did indicate that Auf Der Maur would support her on tour for the album.
