The host of Oscar 2025, Conan O’Brien, joked about the infamous rivalry between Kendrick Lamar and Drake during the award ceremony.

Referring to Lamar’s recent Super Bowl performance, which featured his Drake diss track “Not Like Us,” where he accused Drake of being a “pedophile,” O’Brien humorously recognized the tension on television.

“Well, we are halfway through the show, which means that the time has come for Kendrick Lamar to go out and call Drake a pedophile,” exclaimed O’Brien. The audience erupted in laughter and audible groans, to which O’Brien quipped, “Don’t worry, I am a lawyer.”

The Compton rapper made history by becoming the first solo rapper to have the desired break. Lamar’s showcase is now the most viewed in history, surpassing Usher, who previously attracted 129.3 million viewers, and Rihanna’s previous record of 121 million viewers.

Last week, it was reported that Drake dropped the “key accusations” in his lawsuit against Universal Music Group related to “Not Like Us.”

Both Kendrick Lamar and SZA are set to embark on a joint tour this year, hitting venues across North America from April to June.
