Coheed and Cambria Unveils Eight-Track Covers Album Featuring Songs by The Cure, The Smiths, and Taylor Swift.

New Album Release

Coheed and Cumbria has unveiled a new cover album, “Claudio Covers”, ahead of their much-anticipated tenth studio album “Father of Make Believe.”

Album Details

The album “Claudio Covers”, released through Virgin Music Group, showcases eight reinterpreted tracks from vocalist and guitarist Claudio Sanchez, including notable performances of “Just Like Heaven” by The Cure, “There’s a Light That Never Goes Out” by The Smiths, and “Welcome to New York” by Taylor Swift.

Inspiration Behind the Cover

Discussing his rendition of “Welcome to New York”, Sanchez shares, “My choice to include Welcome to New York is twofold. Firstly, in 2014, my son was born in Brooklyn Hospital (Welcome to New York, Atlas!)… and upon discovering this Swifty classic, we started to listen to it even more than when it was initially released, and if you know my wife, that says a lot.

“The other aspect of my decision… I cherish New York. With many people departing the city in uncertainty, my family decided to establish deeper roots here. There is no place in the world quite like this, and I can’t think of a better place to spend my leisure time. This city deserves all its accolades and songs. Perhaps one day it will inspire me too… but for now, I will express it through this.”
