Chuck D Criticizes Misuse of “Burn Hollywood Burn”

Chuck D has taken issue with those who have appropriated Public Enemy’s song “Burn Hollywood Burn” to celebrate the catastrophic wildfires currently impacting Los Angeles.

Ongoing Wildfires in Los Angeles

Earlier this week (January 7), Los Angeles found itself surrounded by a series of wildfires that continue to wreak havoc. More than 170,000 residents have been forced to evacuate, with countless homes and vehicles lost in the flames.

The hip-hop legend shared a post on his official Instagram, which featured a photograph of the fires devouring a corner of Los Angeles, with the caption “PRAY UP. BE SAFE. EVACUATE.” The post also listed several active fires in California, including Palisades, Eaton, Hearst, Lydia, and Sunset, detailing their current containment levels. All but Lydia and Hearst remain uncontrolled, while Lydia is at a 40 percent lockdown and Hearst is at 10 percent lockdown.
