On the weekend of March 16, Dare – whose real name is Harrison Patrick Smith – took to the marble factory in Bristol for the concert. At the conclusion of the show, fulfilling the request for “girls,” Smith leaped to the barricade and unexpectedly crowdsurfed into the audience.
The audience wasn’t prepared; predominantly consisting of women, they were both shocked and amused by the incident. Despite the surprise, Dare continued the performance, quickly recovering and resuming his song while perched on the barricade.
Check out the fall below.

Upcoming Shows and Future Plans
Dare is set to finish his ongoing UK tour with three more shows – performing in Manchester tonight, followed by Glasgow on the 21st and London on the 22nd. We hope he has better luck with crowdsurfing at these events. Find the remaining tickets here.
Later this year, Dare is expected to return to Europe, where he will perform at the LIDO festival alongside Charlie XCX in June, and then in Reading and Leeds in August.
Dare produced “What Happened to New York?” over the past year, while alternating between his home and studio in New York. He has released his major single “Girls,” along with other tracks like “You Are Invited,” “Spirits,” and “Good Time.”
“What Happened to New York?” received a three-star review from NME, written by Jordan Bassetta: “It is tempting to suggest that Smith desires to reclaim his vibe (along with his style), but at least the pastiche often proves effective.”
“Its defiantly uninspiring breakthrough track “Girls” is among the best singles of 2006, while “Movement” creates a crisp, multilayered cacophony that showcases a greater musical sophistication than is often credited to him,” Bassetta added.
“That said, there is something slightly disheartening in the music. Perhaps it reflects Smith’s longing for a time before Covid, before fake news, before bots and excessive information overload.”
