Porter Robinson’s Cover of Fontaines DC
Porter Robinson illuminated the “beloved” Fontaines DC for Triple J’s As a version Series – check it below.
Robinson’s Unique Interpretation
During his recent run of the show in Australia at the beginning of this month, the producer-DJ and now Roker Porter Robinson visited Triple J Studio, where he showed love for Ireland’s Fontaines DC and performed a unique cover of their popular song “Beloved,” from 2024’s Romance.
While Robinson’s cover remains mostly true to the original “beloved,” he introduces a break, leaving the original song’s rhythm in the final segment for an euphoric assembly. His rendition begins with a brighter version of the song’s signature riff, which he described as “not nu-metal, but there is energy in the original.”

Speaking about his choice to cover the track for As a version, Robinson stated: “’Beloved’ was not a pun, one of my favorite songs last year. It made me a fan of Fontaines DC; I just love it. I love Major Cote. I appreciate music that is extremely catchy and meaningful. The way this song seems to constantly move forward is captivating.”
