Check Out the New Heavy Track “Taking Inventory of a Frozen Lake” This Thursday!

New Single Release

On Thursday, 2025 began with the launch of a powerful new single titled “Taking Inventory Of A Frozen Lake.” Check it out below.

Produced by Stuart Richardson, the track kicks off with heart-pounding drums alongside a piercing, chugging guitar riff, as Thursday’s frontman Jeff Rickly exclaims: “What's in my heart? This frozen lake / What's on my heart? It's a never-ending list of names.”

In a caption on an Instagram post from their official account, the American post-hardcore band shared that Taking Inventory Of A Frozen Lake “started life in Steve Evetts' studio in Jersey during the weekend we toured with MCR in 2022.”

The band explained that the lyrics “refer to the dark night of the soul that people face when they are compelled to confront their past. It reminds us of a modern take on the songs we were drawn to during the Full Collapse era, and we're thrilled to share it with you.”

This new release follows their earlier tracks “White Bikes” from December and “Application For Release From the Dream” from April, marking the latter as their first new music in 13 years.

The 12″ vinyl pressing of “Taking Inventory Of A Frozen Lake” was made available on Thursday, featuring “White Bikes” on the B-side. You can visit Here to purchase a copy.
