Details of the Upcoming Album
This track, shared today (March 5), serves as the last preview of the duo’s anticipated joint album, “Who Believes in the Angels?”. The album was announced last month, with the title track serving as its lead single.
“Swing for the Fences” offers another glimpse of what fans can expect from the album, showcasing the same joyous Rock-N-Roll charm synonymous with both Carlisle and Sir Elton. It conveys a powerful message regarding the expansion of rights and opportunities for the LGBTQIA community.
“Swing for the Fences was a little gem that I brought to the studio: I am a gay woman, Elton is a gay man, and we both have families, and our dreams have come true,” Carlisle explained. “I thought it would be wonderful to write an anthem for young people, encouraging them to embrace a bold, beautiful, and fabulous life. Just go for it! Don’t let anything hold you back!”
Sir Elton added, “When we recorded ‘Swing for the Fences,’ it crystallized the moment when we realized we had an album. It was challenging to reach this point, but we knew we had to rise to the occasion, and there was an overwhelming sense of joy and euphoria. After our initial struggles, all the uncertainty faded away as this song came together. It just sounded fantastic.”
