Lizzo’s New Single Release

Lizzo has unveiled her latest single, “Love in Real Life” – check out the music video below.

Anticipation for Her Return

In recent weeks, Lizzo has been building anticipation for her comeback after she acknowledged the “gap” in 2024.

On Valentine's Day (February 14), Lizzo officially bid farewell to her “special” era and started to tease her forthcoming releases. This single marks her return to music since her 2022 album.

At that time, she shared on Instagram, where she sprayed the words “bye bitch” on the cover of her “special” album: “I want to introduce you, guys, to the latest content from the new era. I have been working on new music over the past two years. I was in no hurry, and I did it right. The new era begins today. I’m really coming for the throat.”

Then she uploaded a video in which she cried before laughing heartily. The video ended with a tease that new music will be released on February 28.

Today, Lizzo has released the music video for “Love in Real Life,” an indie rock piece that explores feelings of loneliness and anguish, featuring a chorus reminiscent of Prince’s Funk rock style.

The video showcases Lizzo getting ready for a night out at the club. However, once on the dance floor, she finds herself unnerved by the surroundings as people start to appear distorted and threatening. They follow her out of the club, but not before she stands her ground with impressive choreography. Watch it below.

In a four-star review of *Special*, Nick Levin wrote for NME: “Perhaps inevitably, given the vastly positive message of Lizzo, *Special* is sometimes a little silly. However, this is the kind of silly you don’t want to resist.” “Is this your birthday, girl? / Because you look a gift” she sings in “Birthday Girl,” a track that practically urges you to head to the bar and order a shot of tequila rose.

“From this evidence, Lizzo knows exactly who she is as an artist and what she wants to achieve: she is a bad bitch with incredible talent making people feel good.”

On another note, Lizzo recently celebrated achieving her “weight release” goals, sharing with her followers: “Let this be a reminder that you can accomplish anything you set your mind to.”

Additionally, she addressed the sexual harassment lawsuit filed against her in 2023, asserting that she “did nothing wrong.” She was sued by three former dancers who alleged sexual harassment and a hostile work environment during the tour. Lizzo denied these claims and mentioned that the situation led her to contemplate leaving the music industry.
