Today, he shared the album art with the message: “F*ck u skrillex you think that Ur Andy Warhol, but not !! <3. Thanks to all my friends who participated in creating this moment.”

Listening Experience

The entire project lasts just under 50 minutes, marking his first solo album since the double release “quest” in 2023, titled “fire/do not come too close.” Listen to it below.

“FUS” arrives just a few months after Skrillex expressed his intention to “Go Independation” following his next project with Atlantic Records. “I never felt more inspired and aligned with my intentions as an artist. Approaching the end of this project, I feel quite existential,” he remarked.

He continued, “I’m excited to explore a broader release of 25 as an ‘independent’ artist. However, the term ‘independent’ feels strange because I still rely heavily on my team and all the other creators and performers to achieve my vision.”

In a separate tweet, he expressed, “Now I can reconsider how the structures are developed. I want to simplify the process of making music and art, as many artists are in a constant state of panic.”

“The industry is like politics—it often seems impossible to navigate. I’ve seen many artists fall prey to the illusions and misconceptions of business. Being a young artist in this environment can be very perilous,” he added.

Despite the challenges, Skrillex mentioned he’s “blessed and grateful” to have emerged from his experiences, vowing to continue striving as an artist to create things that evoke beauty and emotion.

In other Skrillex news, he performed at Ultra for the first time in 10 years over the weekend, featuring surprise guests like Damian Marley, young Niko, and Naisha. He delivered classic tracks such as “where now”, “Bangarand”, “frightened monsters and good sprites”, and much more.
