Collaboration for a Cause
Alice Cooper and Rob Halford of Judas Priest have teamed up to release a Christmas song for children. You can listen to the track and watch the video here.
“My Christmas List” is a collaboration with the charity Rock for kids and aims to benefit Cooper’s Solid Rock Teen Centers, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing after-school training to teens in sound engineering, staging, lighting, and video production.
Track Details and Featured Artists
The track features singer-songwriter Brandon Jenner, who is Caitlyn’s son and the half-brother of Kendall and Kylie.
In “My Christmas List”, the artists inform Santa Claus about their desired gifts, which include “a rock hot air balloon that could go to the moon” and “a 12-string guitar that I can play in a band.” Of course, Santa knows how to relish his trademark milk and cookies.
During a spoken segment, Cooper encourages children to keep dreaming big, stating, “Seriously kid, always keep dreaming the impossible and believe in the magic of your imagination.”
A boy then replies, “Thank you, Mr. Cooper! If I don’t have these things on my list, this is what I want for Christmas,” as he holds up a scroll with “kindness and love” written on it.
The track debuted on Rock For Children’s compilation album “Solid Rock Revival,” released on August 30.
Upcoming Tours and Festivals
Cooper appears on seven tracks of the album, while Halford features on two. Other contributors include Slash (who plays on the motorcycle-themed song “Freewheelin'”), Run-DMC’s Darryl McDaniels, Steve Azar, and the Mexican duo Radio Nube, consisting of sisters aged eight and ten. The album has been nominated for a Grammy in the Best Children’s Music Album category.
In addition, earlier this month, Judas Priest announced two new headlining UK dates for their 2025 European tour, which will include a co-headlining show with Cooper.
The first concert is scheduled for July 23rd at Scarborough Open Air Theater, alongside Phil Campbell and The Bastard Sons. The second show will take place two days later, on July 25th, at The O2 in London, with Cooper joining them. Tickets for both shows can be purchased here.
Next May, Cooper will perform at the inaugural Boardwalk Rock Festival in Ocean City, Maryland, alongside headliners Def Leppard, Mötley Crüe, Nickelback, and Shinedown. He will also open for My Chemical Romance in Philadelphia on August 15, as part of their “Long Live The Black Parade” stadium tour.
