Production and Themes

Produced by Hollywood Cole and mixed by Nicky John Pabon, this track showcases the Kentucky rapper’s signature style: “I’m not looking for hip-hop credibility / Fuck whoever feels me, I feel me” layered over a simple, minimalistic beat, addressing his current standing in the industry. Harlow also reflects on his experience, saying: “Lost a few minutes at the festival / Good and I can’t wait to make a second one“, noting the financial losses he incurred after canceling the second day of his inaugural Gazebo Festival in Louisville due to “dangerous” weather.

He articulates the backlash he has faced through the lines: “My prime is in full swing, like Callaway / I need ten cents for every dollar that New Balance makes / I ain’t about to let the world take my smile away”, taking time to acknowledge the impact of negativity: “The hatred got to me, but I had to act directly.”

In the music video, the “Lovin On Me” hitmaker walks through a chilly winter day in New York City, dressed in a long black coat and black hat, as he delivers his verses.

“Tranquility” follows his previous track “Hello Miss Johnson,” marking his comeback after a brief hiatus. Per the press release, “Jack is currently working on a new project. More on this later.” His last full-length album was 2023’s Jackman.
