Released today (January 17), the track serves as the latest teaser for the Dublin quartet’s forthcoming third album, Open Wide. Following the earlier singles “Your House” and the title track, the album is set to launch on February 7 via Polydor. Pre-order and secure it here.
Track Overview
“You killed the morning / You called me / Poured your heart into my cup / Words of desire / They are enough / What were you trying to come up with?” sings frontman Elijah Hewson over a lively guitar-pop melody.
“I can’t believe we stayed where we stayed / Can’t be old if we don’t want to grow up / Sing me a love song / I know the words / Tell me the story, but I’ve heard it before.” He proceeds as the song evolves into a playful love anthem.

Album Insights
“For me, this is the realm of love songs; to be genuine with someone else, you must first be honest with yourself, like, ‘I need to address my issues so I can support others.’” Hewson explained. “They are also kindred spirits. The choir really transformed everything on this album.”
Recorded at RAK Studios in London and produced by Grammy and BRIT Award winner Kid Harpoon, the upcoming album aims to feature “jubilant pop melodies, intricate grooves, and rock ‘n’ roll dynamism.”
It represents the evolution from previous albums “It Won’t Always Be Like This” and “Cuts & Bruises,” incorporating subtle nods to legendary artists such as T.Rex, Prince, Depeche Mode, and more.
In discussing how New York influenced the album, Hewson stated, “People often mention the adrenaline-filled journey from the airport into the city when you see the skyline for the first time. Most of that energy was dedicated to finishing our songs, and that spark reinvigorated everything. We adore Dublin and the UK, but whenever we arrive in New York, we instantly want to get going.”
“It was fascinating to channel that energy into the music and lyrics, especially as there is so much to write about. You can spend hours in the park watching people and never grow weary.”
