They were joined by Mvul, who previously collaborated with Coldplay during their set at Glastonbury 2024.

Insights on Their Cover Choice

Discussing their choice of cover, Martin shared that bassist Guy Berryman sent him “Sunshine on Leith” – from the second album “Proclamation” of the same name – “three days ago.”

He elaborated: “He said: ‘Listen to this song from the Proclamation,’ and I had never heard it before. It struck me… I then watched the fans of Hibernian (FC) on the terraces, and this song resonated deeply with me.”

Coldplay also performed their classics “Viva La Vida” and “Paradise” in Radio 2’s Piano Room, along with three tracks from their latest album “Moon Music”: “Karate Kid,” “Feels as I Like,” and “All My Love.”

The set was recorded at the BBC Maida Vale studios in London. Watch “Sunshine on Leith” and “All My Love” here:

In other news, last month, Coldplay delivered the largest concert of the 21st century to date when they performed in India during their grand “Scope Music” tour.

This summer, the band is set to return to the UK for a record 10-day engagement at London’s Wembley Stadium, along with two massive concerts in Hall.

During an interview with NME in October last year, Martin discussed whether Coldplay plans to conclude its recorded catalog after 12 albums.

“12 albums is very real, and it feels good,” the frontman explained. “This doesn’t mean we will stop touring or releasing compilations; it just signifies that the main narrative is told. It feels right knowing this is stemming from the oversight of the entire body of work we are currently creating.”

In a separate comment, Martin noted that this target has led the members to experience a “great hunger” in their creative process, ensuring they do not “dilute” their output. He assured fans that by the time their 12th album is released, “everything will make sense” regarding Coldplay’s overall story.

However, in December, Guy Berryman suggested that he takes the plan of 12 albums “with a pinch of salt.”

Meanwhile, Martin paid tribute to Liam Payne, Marianne Faithfull, and others at the Grammys 2025 last weekend with a heartfelt rendition of Coldplay’s “All My Love.”
