“It’s about how love can be unkind and masochistic,” Banks explained regarding the song. “We rewind our memories and see things clearly.”

Speaking about what fans can look forward to in the new record, she remarked: “In many ways, it’s the big sister to 2014’s Goddess. After a decade apart, I reunited with the core musicians and producers who shaped my debut. At the same time, it’s entirely different – I’ve grown as an artist and a person, and that journey is captured in all these sounds.”

Banks celebrated the 10th anniversary of her debut album “Goddess” by releasing an acoustic version in December. She also marked the occasion with special intimate performances in London, New York, and Los Angeles – the original locations she visited after the album’s initial release.

NME awarded Banks’ recent album “Serpentina” four stars, stating: “Serpentina is a welcome return for the artist and a cathartic ode to doing things your own way.” In the track “Spirit,” she declares: “Fuck anyone who tells you you can’t do it/you don’t need it.” Listening to “Serpentine,” you sense that Banks confidently adhered to her own advice.
