Chappell Roan Reveals She’s “So Close” to Releasing Her Second Album

Chappell Roan Provides Album Updates

Chappell Roan gave fans updated information about the subsequent album to its recognized critics “Rise and Fall of the Mid West Princess”.

Current Status of New Album

Having conducted a recent TikTok live, the Grammy-winning artist answered the fans’ question about the whereabouts of her second album. “New Album? Great question. We are so outside… so far from this, I could not even tell you,” she told the audience.

During her live session, Roan also addressed questions about her unrelated track “Metro,” which she debuted with governors last year in New York. “Can we expect a ‘Metro’ in the near future?” she was asked. “Guys, I just released the song hours back, let’s just not take it too fast for a moment,” she replied, referencing her latest single “The Giver.”

Released last Friday (March 14), “Diver” marks the former NME cover star’s first new music since the highly successful single “Good Luck, Baby!” last year. For some time, she had steadily teased the song and debuted it during her appearance on Saturday Night Live in November of the previous year.

On the show, she told the audience: “Everything you guys say you know how to treat a woman correctly. Well, only a woman knows how to relate to a woman,” which encouraged fans to embrace the track, dubbed “the anthem of the lesbians.”

Speaking about her decision to include a more country sound in the press release, Roan shared: “Many people asked if this means that I am making a country album??? My answer… right now I am just making songs that make me feel happy and cheerful, and ‘The Giver’ is my view of country. Xoxo, let the classic country vibes lead my genre; I’m just here to turn it up and make a little gay yodel for you.”

Reflections on Past Experiences

Roan recently reflected on her mixed experiences with “country boys” during school in an interview with Kelley Bannen from Apple Music Country. “I’m going to say something so controversial, but you know who was best and worst? Country boys,” she said. She continued: “They treated me the best and also the worst. That’s high school – and that’s how I grew up. These are the boys I grew up with, and that’s how I learned to stand up for myself.”

She stated that her time with them taught her that “I was never going to let that happen to me again” and “I was never going to raise my hand and say, ‘Stop talking.’”
