Awaiting the Release

The track is yet to be officially released, but anticipation has been building for several months. Roan first caught attention with this new track during her appearance on a Saturday evening in November last year.

Fans are now closer to an official release, as Roan shared a mysterious phone number on her Instagram stories, using it to share snippets of the single.

Published over the weekend, the number “620-468-8646” (or “620-Hot Togo”) invites listeners to choose from various options when they call. Pressing one allows fans to “book a dentist appointment”, two connects them to a “lawyer”, three informs them about “plumbing issues”, and so forth.

Selecting each option leads to a different LO-Fi segment, showcasing parts of the song. If released soon, it will mark the first track Roan has unveiled since her significant hit “Good Luck, Baby”.

Producer Insights

Discussing the track, Dan Nigro, the producer, mentioned in July last year in an New York Times interview that fans could look forward to a “cheerful, upbeat song” that showcases Roan in a “new version”.

Later, as noted by Uproxx, the pop star explained that the track draws on country music, highlighting how women “get things done.”

“It will come out! It will come out; don’t worry,” she mentioned to Brandi Carlile at the Grammy Museum. “Writing it was so much fun. I had to bring my background into the mix because I’m a small-town girl. I wanted to say: ‘No, no, no, let me show you some real country vibes.’”

In other news, Chappell Roan made headlines earlier this month when she delivered a powerful speech at the 67th Grammy Awards, addressing record labels and sharing her journey as a new artist facing challenges.

Previously, “Good Luck, Baby!” was named NME‘s best song of 2024. It achieved phenomenal success, with its persistent synthesizer sound conveying the domestic struggles of someone grappling with their uniqueness.
