Chappell Roan Claims She’d Gain More Fame if She “Wore a Muzzle”

Insights On Fame

Chappell Roan shared her perspective on fame, indicating that her career path would likely have taken a different turn had she been less candid about her personal experiences.

Navigating Public Behavior

The “Hot To Go” singer has opened up about her method of coping with disrespectful behavior in the public eye. “My whole life I’ve reacted this way to disrespect, but now there are cameras on me and I’m also a pop star and those things don’t add up. It’s like oil and water.” she told the BBC.

Career Choices and Advice

“Actually, I think I would have been more successful if it was okay for me to wear a muzzle,” she continued. “If I got over my basic instincts where my heart says, ‘Stop, stop, stop, you’re not okay,’ I’d be bigger. I’d be a lot bigger… And I’d still be on tour right now.”

Roan elaborated that her choice not to renew the tour in 2024 was influenced by the wisdom of her late grandfather. “He said something that I think about every step of the way in my career. There are always options,” she stated. “So when someone says, ‘Do this gig because you’ll never be offered that much money again,’ it’s like, who cares? If I don’t feel like doing it right now, there are always options. There is no shortage of opportunities. I think about it all the time.”
