Main Winners of the 27th Mobo Awards
Central Cee, Bashi, and Ayra Starr emerged as the standout winners at the 27th Mobo Awards, which took place at Newll’s Utilita Arena.
Bashi and Central Cee Shine
Bashi took home two major awards, clinching Album of the Year for “To Be Poor, Expensive,” his first release in 15 years, along with Best Hip Hop Act. Central Cee secured the Best Male Act award for the third consecutive time, breaking a record in this category.
The ceremony, hosted by Eddie Kadi and India Polail, also saw Darkoo winning double awards, taking home Best Female Act and Song of the Year for “Favorite Girl,” a collaboration with Dess Dior. Ayra Starr also received two awards: “Best African Musical Act” and “Best International Act.”
Other notable winners included Ezra Collective for Best Jazz Act, while Alt Blk Era took home Best Alternative Act. The Web was recognized in both Best Newcomer and Best R&B/Soul Act categories.
