Incident During Performance

The metal band was performing the first of two sold-out shows when the incident occurred on January 22. The ceiling panels fell while they were playing the penultimate song of their set, “Just Pretend.”

As confetti filled the hall, several ceiling panels unexpectedly descended upon the audience. According to Wall of Sound, one fan was reportedly knocked unconscious, while another sustained “soft tissue damage to her hand and possible broken/fractured fingers.”

A fan recounted the chaos to Wall of Sound: “It was actually very bad… Two girls were pulled out in front of me, one was bleeding from her mouth and neck, the other was bleeding from her knee… A group of people in the area were trying to get out.”

Another witness mentioned: “There was a visibly dazed girl lying on the ground with blood running down her face. They had a hard time getting her up as I’m not sure she was losing consciousness. The doctors jumped up and took her out of the hole.”

Reports about the injuries vary, with some claiming only minor injuries occurred, while others mentioned more severe cases, including a fan who was bleeding and subsequently taken to the hospital.

Speaking to NME in 2023, frontman Noah Sebastian shared insights about his work ethic while creating the song “The Death of Peace of Mind.” He reflected, “I feel like I’ve really come into my own over the last year and a half.” He emphasized the importance of self-improvement during the pandemic, focusing on enhancing his vocal abilities as well as adopting a healthier lifestyle.

“This record is so vocal-focused. The production revolves around the nuances of vocal parts, lyrics, themes, and emotions that can be conveyed through vocals,” he added.
