Last night (March 26), the iconic Carnegie Hall in New York hosted People Have Power: Patti Smith’s Holiday, a tribute concert featuring a roster of musicians celebrating the legendary Patti Smith.
People Have Power: Patti Smith’s Holiday is an extraordinary music event, donating 100 percent of its proceeds to musical education for low-income youth.
During the performance, Bruce Springsteen and the house band, led by Tony Shanahan, a long-time member of Smith’s group, along with drummer Steve Jordan from the “Rolling Stones,” delivered a rendition of “Because the Night,” which you can check out in the clips below.

In other news, Patti Smith has announced special concerts to commemorate the 50th anniversary of her debut studio album “Horses,” which will take place throughout Europe, Great Britain, and the United States later this year.
