Bill Murray kicked off his US tour last weekend in Chicago, delivering covers of classic tracks by Bob Dylan, The Kinks, and more.

On this tour, the iconic actor is accompanied by the blues band Blood Brothers, featuring Mike Zito and Albert Castiglia. The band started their performances on Friday (January 3) at Thalia Hall in Chicago.

Highlights of the Performance

Murray amazed the audience with renditions of Dylan’s 1965 hit “Like A Rolling Stone” and “Tired Of Waiting” by The Kinks. He also covered Wilson Pickett’s “Midnight Hour” and the Paul Butterfield Blues Band’s “Born in Chicago,” all while donning a Chicago Blackhawks jersey.

Upcoming Tour Dates

The band is set for a two-night show at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco on January 29th and 30th. Following this, they will make their way across North America with stops in Atlanta, Port Chester, New York, Austin, and other cities, concluding at the Louisville Palace in Louisville, Kentucky on October 4. Back in 2022, Murray surprised people strolling through Washington Square Park in New York City with an impromptu performance that included renditions of West Side Story‘s “I Feel Beautiful” and Porgy and Bess‘ “That’s Not Necessarily The Case.” This surprise performance was timed with the release of New Worlds: The Cradle of Civilization, Murray’s joint film-concert with cellist Jan Vogler.

In other news, the iconic actor appeared in Laufey’s holiday music video for her rendition of the classic “Santa Baby.”
