Beyoncé performed several songs from “Cowboy Carter” live for the first time – watch snippets of the footage and fan reactions below.

Bay celebrated Christmas by headlining the NFL Christmas halftime show in her hometown of Houston, Texas. For the performance, she presented a completely new setlist featuring only songs from “Cowboy Carter.” It marked the first time she sang the title track “Cowboy Carter” live since its debut earlier this year.

The performance (and the NFL game) were streamed live on Netflix. International fans will have the opportunity to stream the game and Beyoncé’s performance for 24 hours after it concludes, while fans in the US will only be able to view it for a limited time.

Highlighting the Performance

During the set, which lasted less than 13 minutes, Queen Bey was accompanied by stars including Shaboosie, Post Malone, Rayna Roberts, Tanner Adell, Brittney Spencer, and Tiera Kennedy. Her eldest daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, also joined her to dance to “Texas Hold’em.”

To kick off the halftime show that fans are calling “the best Super Bowl performance of all time, and it wasn’t even the Super Bowl”, Beyoncé opened with “16 Carriages.” She also performed “Blackbird,” “YA YA,” “My House,” “Jolene,” and more. Her collaborations included “Levii’s Jeans” with Post Malone and “Sweet Honey Buckiin'” with Shaboozey.

“Cowboy Carter” received a five-star review from NME at its release, with Jenessa Williams writing: “Even if interpreted only in terms of artistic spectacle, it’s an undeniable delight to see her so involved in a project that forces her to be so intimate and vocal, making way for country newcomers too.”

The album secured the seventh position on NME‘s list of the 50 Best Albums of 2024, and “16 Carriages” was recognized as the eighth best song of 2024.

Having previously tied with Jay-Z at 88 nominations each, she has since been nominated for an impressive 11 awards at next year’s Grammys, all for “Cowboy Carter.” This brings her total to a record 99 nominations, and in 2023, she set a new record for most Grammy wins with a total of 32 trophies.
